Any system which enhances the surgeon's calculating and mapping capabilities, and conceptualization of the procedures will greatly enhance the procedure's efficacy. A system containing a number of easily accessible sources of information (neuroanatomy and physiology) would be a valuable tool to the practicing stereotactic neurosurgeon, as well as an aid to developing and maintaining good stereotactic surgical skills.
