Research & Development at MIDCO
MIDCO's original product was a computerized imaging graphical simulation and brain mapping system for stereotactic surgery. This system is patented in the United States and Canada, and sold under the trademark CASS (Computer Assisted Stereotactic Surgery). This system is an original design which pioneered the use of multi-modality imaging and graphics for stereotactic treatment planning, including brain mapping, brachytherapy, radiosurgery, three-dimensional tumor volume resection, and various stereotactic frame simulations.
Historically, MIDCO's emphasis has been on research and development, and the transfer of developed technologies to marketable products by it's distributors.
MIDCO has been a leader in the field of stereotaxy and has a number of patents related to computerized imaging, optimization, three-dimensional laser localization, and radiation therapy using stereotaxy.
